Unity Dorset was formed in 2013 initially as a supported living service for adults with learning disabilities however, we are now an established support provider for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours. We provide supported accommodation and/or outreach support to individuals in their own home or other settings.
We have experience working with adults who have a a diagnosis of schizophrenia and psychosis, emotionally unstable personality disorder, personality disorders, Asperger’s, autism, mild learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. All of our support staff are trained in the diagnosis of the individual ensuring that we provide personalised support.
We are a non-regulated service which, means we do not provide any personal care or any other regulated activity outlined by CQC. We are monitored and regulated by Dorset Council’s Quality Improvement Team.
Grant and Colleen (Company Directors) play a visibly active role within the company ensuring that Unity Dorset is progressing, developing and moving forward with the times. They both still complete support work with the service users which allows them to continue to understand the changing needs of the service, service users and support team. As the company grows we are looking to establish a bigger management structure to aid the continued improvement or our internal processes and employee management.
