This year our team of amazing support workers were nominated for the Dorset Echo Special Recognition Award. There were lots of entries but the category is whittled down to 3 finalists. We were one of the 3 finalists!!!
The Dorset Echo Care Awards celebrate the work of carers/support workers and organisations in the care sector. It recognises the amazing care and support work that teams, individuals and organisations provide to individuals who use care services. Finalists were treated to a ceremony held at Weymouth College and enjoyed an afternoon tea and a lovely framed finalist award (take a look to the right).
We really were not expecting to be recognised because, the role of a support worker is very different to that of a care worker and being titled ‘Care Awards’ we assumed it was out of our reach. Well that was until we received an email to say we were finalists! It was the best feeling ever and being able to share the news with our support workers was amazing.
We went along and enjoyed every minute of it even though we were not the winners (well we are all winners) we came away beaming. We couldn’t just let the finalist position pass so we took some time our to celebrate with some very cheesy celebratory pictures.
We really do have the best team who are willing to allow us to share the pictures with you all.
Last but not least a big thank you to Paula, Jemma, Rich, Rebecca, Sinead, Natalie, Tracy, Beth, Amanda, Maddie, Polly and Heather. Our Support Workers.
